How to play
In Bluffers you play cards face down, convince your rivals, and try to be the last player at the table. Learn it in six steps:
-
Step 1
Meet the deck
The deck has 20 cards: 6 Kings, 6 Queens, 6 Aces and 2 Jokers. The Joker is magic: it counts as any card you like. When the game starts, everyone gets 5 cards.
Tip Keep your cards to yourself. No peeking allowed!
-
Step 2
The table card
At the start of each round, the table picks a card: King, Queen or Ace. You'll see it in the top-left corner of the screen. For the whole round, everyone pretends to play that card.
Tip A Joker always counts as the table card.
-
Step 3
Play your cards
On your turn, pick 1, 2 or 3 cards and tap PLAY. They go face down, and you're saying they're all the table card. The game says it out loud, like “Two Kings!”. Tell the truth... or bluff!
Tip You get 30 seconds per move. Run out and a random card gets played for you.
-
Step 4
Call the bluff!
If the next player doesn't buy it, they tap Call Bluff. The cards flip one by one: green means true, red means a lie! If they believe you, they play their own cards and it's their turn.
Tip If you're the only one still holding cards, you have to call the bluff.
-
Step 5
Trigger time
Whoever got it wrong puts their own revolver to their head. If a lie is caught, the player who played the cards pulls; if the cards were true, the player who called the bluff pulls! There are 6 chambers but only 1 bullet. Hear a “click”? You're safe.
Tip The risk grows with every pull: 1 in 6, then 1 in 5, then 1 in 4...
-
Step 6
Last one standing wins
The last player still standing wins the game! You score points for where you finish. At a 4-player table: 1st gets 10 points, 2nd 6, 3rd 3 and 4th 1. Your points add up, but only online matches with at least two real players move you up the Best Players board.
Tip The more you play with real people, the higher you climb. Good luck!
Read the full rules
Bluffers is a bluff card game for 2-4 players. The idea is simple: play your cards face down, make your rivals believe you, and be the last player at the table. All the rules are below; the game also has an illustrated How to Play? screen.
The deck and the hand
- The deck has 20 cards: 6 Kings, 6 Queens, 6 Aces and 2 Jokers. A Joker counts as any card.
- At the start of every round, each surviving player gets 5 cards. At a 4-player table the whole deck is dealt.
- Only you can see your cards.
The table card
At the start of every round the table picks a card at random: King, Queen or Ace. It is shown in the top-left corner of the screen. For the whole round, everyone pretends to play that card. A Joker always counts as the table card.
On your turn: play your cards
- Pick 1, 2 or 3 cards from your hand and tap PLAY.
- The cards go face down into the middle of the table, and you are claiming they all match the table card. The game announces it out loud, like “Two Kings!”.
- Tell the truth or bluff. Nobody sees your cards.
You have 30 seconds per move. If time runs out, a random card from your hand is played for you.
What the next player does
- Plays cards: they accept the claim and the turn passes to them.
- Says “Call Bluff”: the last cards played are revealed. Cards that match the table card (Jokers included) light up green, the others red.
Whoever was wrong pulls the trigger
- If all the cards played match the table card or are Jokers, the claim was true: the player who called the bluff pulls the trigger.
- If any card doesn't match, the lie is caught: the player who played the cards pulls the trigger.
Every player has their own revolver: 6 chambers, 1 bullet. The chamber advances with every pull, so the risk grows: first 1 in 6, then 1 in 5, then 1 in 4... and it carries over from round to round. If it doesn't fire, the game goes on; if it does, the player is out and slumps onto the table. The revolver is purely a fictional game rule, shown in a cartoon style; that's why Bluffers is for players aged 16 and over.
After the pull, the cards are collected, a new round is dealt and the table picks a new card. The player who pulled the trigger starts the new round; if they were knocked out, the next player starts it.
Special cases
- A player with no cards left is skipped until the end of the round; the cards they played last can still be challenged with “Call Bluff”.
- If you are the only player who still has cards, you must say “Call Bluff” when your turn comes.
- If your connection drops, the match doesn't stop: when your turn comes, a move is played for you automatically. When you come back, you rejoin the table where you left off.
- If you tap Leave Table, you earn no points from that match, and it goes on for the other players.
Winning and points
The last player still standing wins the game. You score points for where you finish, and your place is settled the moment you are knocked out (the winner finishes 1st, the last player knocked out finishes 2nd, and so on):
- 4-player table: 1st place 10 points, 2nd 6, 3rd 3, 4th 1.
- 3-player table: 8 points, 4 points and 1 point.
- 2-player table: 5 points and 1 point.
Leaderboard and seasons
- Matches against bots add to the total score on your device but send no points to the worldwide leaderboard.
- Only the points from online matches with at least two real players go to the worldwide leaderboard; those matches count even if there are bots at the table.
- Every calendar month is a season. Your season points come from these online matches, and your tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond) is shown as a badge in the main menu and on the leaderboard. The season leaderboard resets at the start of each month.
- Our server calculates online points; a phone cannot send them.
Play with friends
- In the main menu, tap Create Room. In the lobby you'll see a big room code; tap it to copy it, or share it with an invite link.
- Your friends tap Join in the main menu, enter the code and take a seat at the same table.
- If the table isn't full, the room owner can use Add Bot, and can remove a bot that was added by mistake before the match starts.
- Once at least two players are in, the room owner taps Start.
When a match ends, you can move on to a new one from the result screen. With no internet, you can also play against bots from the main menu.
First time playing?
The Tutorial Match in the main menu is a guided, step-by-step match against two bots, and it is offered only once. The illustrated How to Play? screen can be opened from the main menu at any time.
A safe and fair table
The deck and the bullet are handled on the server, and every player sees only their own cards. In the lobby or at the table you can tap a player's name to Block them or Report them to us. For details, have a look at the frequently asked questions.
Ready to take a seat?
If it's your first time, the in-game Tutorial Match walks you through it step by step.
Online matches need an internet connection; without one you can practice against bots.
