In Bluffers, a good hand and a good bluff are two different things, and the second one is often what wins at the table. Here are six small tips for new players.
1. Don't forget the Joker
A Joker always counts as the table card. So when the table card is King, playing a Joker and saying “King” is an honest move even if you hold no King.
2. Fewer cards, less attention
Playing a single card draws less attention at the table; playing three takes nerve. If you can't honestly play three cards, remember that if you're caught, you're the one who pulls the trigger.
3. Watch who has how many cards left
A player with no cards left is skipped. If only one player still has cards, they must call the bluff. Count that in your plan, and in your rival's plan too.
4. Mind the revolvers
Every player has their own revolver, and the risk grows with every pull: first 1 in 6, then 1 in 5, then 1 in 4... and it carries over from round to round. Before you call the bluff, look at the state of your rival's revolver and your own.
5. Use your time, but don't miss it
You have 30 seconds per move. If time runs out, a random card from your hand is played, so don't leave a move to chance.
6. Practice first
The Tutorial Match in the main menu walks you through a match against two bots, step by step. After that, the best way to try the rules is to set up a room with bots or with your friends.
